Warriors Wire, carried Monday on Yahoo, put the math in a straight line. Thompson wore No. 11 for 11 seasons in Golden State. He won four titles in that number. He switched to 31 for two seasons in Dallas. He is putting 11 back on with the Heat. Yahoo’s waiver write-up said the same thing in different words: revert to 11 after 31. That is the whole story if you only care about the stitch. The take is what the stitch means.

Putting 11 back on is not nostalgia merch. It is him saying the Warriors chapter is the one he still answers to, in a new room with Giannis. 31 was the Dallas detour. 11 is the shooter walking into Heat culture.
