Angel Reese Stays at 7 Technicals After the 8th Came Off
The league pulled Friday's tech. $1,500 and a one-game sit vs the No. 1 Lynx are off. Last game before the World Cup break.

You saw it before the replay did. Leite's back, both arms in, Reese behind her, Howard's three from the right corner already down. That extra jump on a dead possession is the whole argument.
The WNBA rescinded Angel Reese's eighth technical from Friday, so she stays at seven and plays Sunday against the Lynx instead of sitting a $1,500 one-game suspension.
Fourth quarter in Atlanta. Portland 101, Dream 83. Reese got tangled with Carla Leite in the paint as Rhyne Howard hit from the right corner. Leite was facing the basket, boxing her out, both arms extended backward. Reese pushed free after the make and protested. The whistle lasted a few hours. Then it came off.

Do not wait on a Sunday box that has not been played. Friday she went 16 and 16 with six assists in 38 minutes, the 28th double-double of the season, tying Alyssa Thomas from 2023. Five-of-14 from the floor. Eight of those 16 boards were offensive. The glass was the job. The league watched the same clip and took the eighth off. She is back at seven, tied with Caitlin Clark and Kahleah Copper. Clark already had an eighth pulled earlier this month. The limit moved from seven to eight with the 44-game schedule. Eight is still a one-game sit and $1,500.
Atlanta's coach said it from the sideline: it didn't look like something that was tech-worthy. Her seventh was July 9 against Seattle. Sunday is the last Dream game before the World Cup break. Reese is on the U.S. roster. Minnesota is 31-8, the 1-seed, at Gateway Center, 2 p.m. CT. Atlanta is 25-14, fifth.
Seven technicals. The eighth came off. The No. 1 seed is in the building.
