Australia beat Türkiye 87-71 in Berlin and locked the Final Phase.

Magbegor scored 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting, and Australia shot 61 percent from the field.

That catch on the block and turn before the help gets set kept showing up for twenty-four minutes.

Berlin Arena. Group C. Quarters went 21-15, 19-15, 27-25, 20-16 for the Opals. FIBA’s Sep 6 math said a win over Türkiye put Australia into the Final Phase. Record sits 2-0 atop the group. Türkiye sits 0-2.

Türkiye still punched. Sevgi Uzun dropped 24 on 7-of-13 with 6 assists and 3 steals in 33 minutes, and the third quarter went 27-25 after Türkiye stacked long looks. Australia’s answer lived on the two-point line. The Opals shot 70.5 percent inside the arc. Türkiye sat at 36 percent from the field for the game.

FIBA’s lead tracker shows Australia ahead for 38 minutes and 41 seconds. Türkiye’s biggest lead was one point, and it lasted under a minute.

Depth held late. Alex Fowler put up 10. Jade Melbourne had 8 on 4-of-5. Alex Wilson and Steph Reid ate the minutes that keep a group-stage lead from leaking. Attendance was 5,317 for Australia’s first tip inside Berlin Arena after the Puerto Rico opener at Max-Schmeling-Halle.
